Audit GA4 events
Instructions
Use this skill when the user wants to audit their GA4 event setup — e.g. before a site change or to clean up. The job: inventory, mapping to goals, gaps, and prioritized recommendations.
Instructions
- Inventory: List all events and key parameters currently sent; note source (GTM, gtag, app). If the user cannot provide a list, tell them where to get it (GA4 admin, debug view, or export).
- Map: Align events to business goals (acquisition, engagement, conversion); flag unused or duplicate events.
- Gaps: Identify missing events for critical flows (e.g. signup, purchase, key content).
- Recommendations: Prioritize add, rename, or deprecate; output as a short tracking plan update or bullet list.
Use case
Cleaning up 'ghost' events and ensuring your key conversion events are firing correctly in the GA4 platform.
How to use this skill
Provide a list of current events or the URL where the GA4 tag is active.
