Draft or refine a positioning statement

Instructions

Use this skill when the user wants to get or refine a positioning statement for their product. The job: 1–2 clear statements (3–4 sentences) that align teams on audience, category, benefit, and differentiation.

Instructions

  1. Template: Use a standard format (e.g. For [audience], [product] is [category] that [benefit]. Unlike [alternatives], we [differentiation]).
  2. Input: Target audience, product name, category, key benefit, and differentiator. If the user's draft is vague, ask for one concrete example.
  3. Draft: Produce 1–2 positioning statements; keep under 3–4 sentences. Avoid jargon and unsupported claims.
  4. Refine: If the draft is long or generic, suggest one tighter alternative and one sentence on what to fix.

Use case

Aligning all stakeholders on a single, clear definition of the product's value and audience.
