Define segment rules

Instructions

Use this skill when the user wants to define or document segment rules for an ESP or CDP. The job: segment name, use case, inclusion/exclusion rules, and refresh so the audience is clear and repeatable.

Instructions

  1. Purpose: Segment name and use case (e.g. newsletter, product launch, re-engagement). One line.
  2. Rules: List inclusion and exclusion rules (e.g. subscribed = true, last_open > 30 days, tag = premium). Use the user's tool language if they have one.
  3. Refresh: How often the list updates (real-time, daily, manual) and who owns it.
  4. Output: Segment name, definition, and example size or criteria so someone else can replicate. Table or bullets.

Use case

Creating reusable, high-quality audience definitions that work across all your marketing tools.

How to use this skill

Provide a list of user attributes and behaviors that define your target segment.
